I've seen posts in many other groups asking about abbreviations on Cafemom, so I thought I'd compile a list and post them as reference for those who need them (I know I did when I first joined Cafemom..lol)

Some Common Abbreviations


WRITING IN ALL CAPITALS - shouting

AC = Adopted child
AF = Aunt Flo
ATM = At the Moment 
BBL = Be Back Later
BF = Boy Friend (also sometimes best friend, breast-feeding depending on context!!)
BFP = Big Fat Positive
BIL = Brother-in-Law
BL = Belly Laugh
BRB = Be Right Back
BTW = By the Way
CM = CafeMom
CYL = Catch Ya' Later
DD = Dearest Daughter, Darling Daughter
DF = Dearest/Darling Fiance'
DH = Dear Hubby (Or Husband), Darling Hubby
DS = Dearest Son, Darling Son
ETA = Estimated time of arrival
F2F = Face to Face
FAQ = Frequently Asked Question
FC = Foster child
FIL = Father-in-law
FWIW = For What It's Worth
GF = Girl Friend
IM = Instant Message
IMO = In My Opinion
IRL = In Real Life
JK = Just Kidding
JMO = Just my opinion/observation
LMAO = Laughing my a$$ off
LOL = Laughing Out Loud or Lots of Laughs
MB = Message Board 
MIL = Mother-in-Law 
OIC = Oh I see
OMG = Oh My Gosh
OP = Original Post
OT = Off Topic
OTOH = On The Other Hand
PIOG = Posted in other groups
POV = Point of View
PP = Previous Poster 
ROFL or ROTFL = Rolling on the Floor Laughing
ROFLMBO = Rolling on the Floor Laughing My Butt Off
SAHM =Stay at Home Mom

SS = Step Son
