My name is Michele and I work on a program you may be familiar with that airs on Discovery Health Channel called I'm Pregnant and...

The show airs Tuesday nights at 9:30pm. The program has been very successful so we have been asked to gear up for a second season.

We are doing outreach for the second season and some of the topics we are looking to do an episode about obesity during pregnancy. We are currently looking to profile a woman who is giving birth somewhere around March or April.

Each episode is a half hour long and is sort of split into three parts, pre-birth and backstory, the birth, and the follow up after the birth.  We will financially compensate the person chosen for the program.

If you are interested in finding out more about the program and possibly participating please send an email to mspinak@sirensmedia.com

Thanks!

Too bad you're not looking for a July birth. I'm actually having to make the choice to return to the US to have the baby because I'm in South Korea, a country that is extremely biased against overweight women. I'm also trying for a VBAC. Here, if you're over 200 pounds, you're very much likely to not get an epidural, many people don't believe you can even get pregnant, cesareans are very common due to big baby fears, and the number of doctors who actually have experience with overweight women is EXTREMELY low. It's been interesting to say the least dealing with the healthcare system here since becoming pregnant and the biases against me due to my weight which is FAR worse than what I had to put up with the last time I was pregnant when I was still in the US. Oh, and even better, my chance of being CONSCIOUS if I were to get another cesarean are pretty low because they don't feel comfortable putting epidurals in overweight women here. Again, lack of experience as most Korean women are EXTREMELY small. They will also be biased against Korean women who have foreign husbands due to the big baby fears.
