Getting healthy while pregnant

I am currently about 21 weeks pregnant but I am miserable all the time because I am about 70 lbs overweight. In all honesty, I am very lazy and it is very hard to get inspired to eat healthy because it is very invovled when it comes to cooking and my children are always in the kitchen trying to help and it really annoys me. How do you get the energy and desire to get healthy when all you want to do is lay around?

Well, I'm right there with you on much of that... but I've found that keeping lots of fruits and veggies handy help out.  I munch on fruits and sliced veggies a lot.  Then, when I actually have the energy to cook something, I try to cook large amounts so that we can have quick left-overs for a few days, which helps out too.

I don't know your situation, do you have a hubby or baby sitter who can help watch the kids when you can cook?  Maybe have someone watch the kids for an hour while you can cook up something quick and easy, like pasta... use wheat pasta, which my dr suggested, and cut up some fresh veggies to add to the sauce, which helps from the healthy aspect.

The fresh fruits and veggies help out, though, for sitting and snacking.  And depending on your kids, a quick scrambled egg is easy enough and very healthy for the kid's dinner.  My Little Man who's 18 months loves eggs and is great with two scrambled eggs and a banana... any time of the day!  Makes the really bad days (I have Fibromyalgia too) a little easier.

Just my 2 cents... good luck!
