I am 21 weeks tomorrow. Thursday I was in ER because I about passed out. Gave me some fluids lightheadedness went away. 3 days that followed were dizzy spells. Today a floaty head feeling. Checked sugar BP and anemia and thyroid everything came back clear. Said it was dehydration mixed with my vertigo that I get because of allergies building pressure in ear canals. However the OB said many woman experience dizziness and lightheadedness throughout pregnancy and it is fairly common? Am I alone in this because this is my 5th kid and NEVER have I dealt with this.

I'm on my 2nd pregnancy and I've had dizzy spells during both of them.  They'll come out of nowhere and last anywhere from a few seconds to maybe a minute or two.  The whole world will just spin out from under me and I've almost fallen a couple times.

Make sure you're drinking a ton of water!  If you think you've drunk enough water, drink some more!  Ask your doc about maybe adding in some Gatorade for the electrolites and sodium.  And check your blood pressure.  If your bp is too low or too high, it could cause some issues too.

And yes, allergies could also cause you to have vertigo as well.  I've had that issue too.  My allergies are 100 times worse during pregnancy and that certainly doesn't help.  I take Claritin D 12 hour for my allergies and it helps.  Ask your doctor about maybe taking that to help out.

Yes it's fairly common and as you know, every pregnancy is different.  Just because all your previous ones didn't have this, doesn't mean that it's not possible to have completely different stuff going on for this one.  Just be sure to keep your doctor updated at your appointments.  Write down any symptoms throughout the weeks inbetween appointments, so that you'll remember to ask about different concerns.

Good luck!

Yes my allergies seem so much worse during this pregnancy and I am sure its the allergies causing most of the dizziness cause its worse when I turn my head or look down or barely move such as sitting on bed and kids move bed without me realizing it. That sets it off which indicates fluid in ears. Yesterday did sugar test and oh boy that made me feel horrible all day but not the same dizziness as my vertigo.
