Hi, my name is Lisa and I am a SAHM of 4 great kids.  I started a small campaign to get to know mothers w/i one mile of my zip code.  The response was overwhelming so on the advice of others I have started this group to widen the reach of my initial effort.  The email I sent the nine great ladies in my area was this:

Hey, my name is Lisa and I am a SAHM of 4 kids. I was inspired to do this by a post I read this weekend from a mother of a sick baby in Connecticut. She had no money and no car and had asked her babies daddy to go buy some Pedialyte for the baby. He refused, even tho he was on his way out to buy cigarettes saying that Pedialyte was too expensive and a waste of money, blah, blah. I suggested that she search for mothers w/i one mile of her zip code for some help.

I thought it might be nice to be able to connect with the 9, only 9 mothers within one mile of my zip code in case we ever found ourselves in a situation where we really, really needed some help like this poor mom did.

Therefore, I would like to see if you want to invite me as a friend so we can be there for each other. Need a ride to the doctor, too sick to get to the store and need some milk or Pedialyte or whatever, need to get out of the house and want to meet somewhere, whatever the case may be. If you are interested, send me an invite. No judgements here, no color barrier, neighborhood prejudice, income limit, family size, nothing. Just moms reaching out to other moms. Thanks, Lisa

Hi I'm a SAHM. This is my first child. She is 2 1/2 months. I love the idea of your group. I'm a young mom(19) and everything is so new to me. It would be nice to have other mothers around to talk to and share with.
