Happy Thursday ladies.  I can't believe how the temperature is rising so quickly.  I just wanted to ask you all to be sure and tell us a little something about yourself when you sign in.

What are you plans for spring break?  We are taking a LONG road trip, 18 hours in the car with 4 kids!  But it is for a great cause.  We are going to Oklahoma to see my WHOLE family. I am so excited.

Since this group is about making sure we have someone to turn to when we need it and reaching out to help one another, I would like to hear some stories about when someone went above and beyond for you in a time of need or something you have done for someone else when they were down on their luck.

For me it was when my 2nd son was very sick and the hospital repeatedly when he was only a couple of months old.  I had a twenty-two month old at home and was overwhelmed with hospital stays, physical/occupational/speech therapist visits, doctors visits, tests, fear for my child and the unknown reason he was having such trouble, demands at home, guilt at not being there for my older baby, etc.  People I didn't know and haven't seen since heard about our situation from my visiting in-laws.  They were going to church while they were there taking care of older son.  These people brought me dinners several times.  It was amazing and touched me so deeply.

Since then I have made a point of always preparing a full meal from anyone in my neighborhood who has recently given birth.  I also make a banana nut bread and take it to any new neighbors who move in.  I take them a card with my phone number and let them know that I can help refer them to a pediatrician, ob/gyn, dentist, vet, hair salon, whatever.

So, let me hear your stories and have an awesome spring break!  Haha, break!  As if.

Spring break. I'm going home for the week. Vegas! wow i miss it so much. unfortunatly it's just me and the baby going to see my parents. My boyfriend has to work and go to school.Frown

I would love to be your neighbor! Where I live people don't reaaly talk to their neighbors. My aunt sent me banana nut bread when I gave birth. It was so good.

My help was my mom. When I gave birth I didn't want to do anything. I didn't know what to do either. She changed the baby, cooked for us, did our laundry. She went with me to the baby's first appointments. The baby had jaundice so she helped me make sure we kept her in the sunlight. When she left a week later I had a few meals already prepared for me. It made things so much easier for me. It made me realize how amazing my mom really is.

Isn't that the truth.  You never realize how great your mom was until you become a mom yourself.  Have an awesome time on your trip home.  The best part for me. BABYSITTERS!  And they can't wait to do it.  I will definitely drop you a line regarding our zoo get-together.

Hello!  I'm currently expecting my first child.  My due date is actually March 8th, so the little bugger is already a day late.  I'm on day 4 of my maternity leave and I'm feeling a little bored.  My doctor is going to go ahead and induce me this next wednesday if I haven't gone into labor naturally by then.

My plans for spring break are just taking care of my soon to be baby boy and myself.  Other then that I have a few family events that I plan on attending.  Hopefully I won't get too bored being at home.

My family has been extremely supportive throughout my entire pregnancy and now that I have my baby boy.  My son's father recently left me for another girl and is threatening me constantly!  Just last night he told me that if I ever brought his son around another man then he would slit my throat.  My family was there to encourage me and to not let Corey get me down because I still have an amazing child that I have to look after.  They're always willing to take my son, Wes, off my hands if I need a little mental health break and are just always there for me whenever I need them!  I owe them all so much!
I appreciate what my family is doing for me, support wise, so I watch one of my friends little girls because they had alot of problems with neglectful caregivers and I want them to know that they're daughter is being taken care of properly.
