The following poem was written by Christina Bowers.

I am six weeks old today.  Your gift from God is me.
A pair of bright blue eyes, that someday you will see.
Today is month two and I learned to suck my thumb.
I've barely got ears, A little puppy nose,
And at the end of my feet, little things called toes.
Month three had come, Oh my what a wonderful thing,
Today I learn, a girl?  A boy?  What will I be?
I just hope you'll be proud of me.
Four months have past, my hair is growing fast,
I can turn my head and curl my toes.
I stretch my arms and legs too, oh how much I've grown!
I'm getting excited month five has come.
We go to the doctor, to see who I've become!
You'll be so proud, I can't wait for you to see,
I can move and turn and I'll give you a show, just from me!
What did the doctor say?  What, I don't understand!
I am a baby Mommy!  He lied to you!  I'm your baby Mommy,
Can't you feel me?  I am alive!  Here inside you, warm and safe.
Just listen, I'm sure you can hear my heart beat.
Mommy, what's the matter?  Why are you crying?
This makes me sad.  I don't like this!
Are they hurting you Mommy?  Please don't cry.
We should leave this place, it makes me feel scared.
What's that?  Something is happening, this feels bad.
Mommy what is it?  Please Please make this stop!
Mommy why are you crying?  Are they hurting you?
What's happening Mommy, I'm starting to cry.
Mommy come quickly they're making me die.
They're killing me Mommy, they are pulling me apart,
Every thing inside me, even my heart!
Mommy!  ...Good-bye Mommy, I'll never see your face,
I had so many plans to make you proud of me.
I wanted to say how much I love you and hear you say you love me.
If only I could have stayed, all our tears they no more would be.
I'm in heaven now, sitting on Jesus' lap.
He said He loves me and He said He is my Father.
I am happy now Mommy, all the pain is gone.
I'm in a beautiful place and Jesus will take good care of me.
Maybe one day Mommy, you could come to heaven,
I could sit on your lap and say I love you.
We could see each other face to face,
And live with Jesus in this happy place.
