Ok so I've been wanting to get an Embrodiery Machine and I talked hubby into letting me get one.  But I'm kind of clueless about what kind to get and how they work.  I know how to sew, I had a sewing machine but left it in storage when we moved to Germany.  If anyone could give me some info on the machines that'd be great.  I was looking online and saw that some come with patterns.  Now are those the only patterns you can use or can you buy something to have more patterns?  Do Embrodiery Machines sew like regular sewing machines too?  Any info and tips of what kind of machine is the best is appreciated.

i have an embroidery machine made by brother.it is one of the disney machines. it does sew like a regular sewing machine also, and when you want to embroider you just put the attatchment on. it has built in pictures and letters to embroider, but also has a slot where you can put in pdf cards to get more pictures. you can buy those cards at a lot of craft stores and even walmart has a few. they usualy come in with similar items on the card, like flowers, or letters or mickey mouse etc...  also, a cool thing you can do is get a card reader writer machine. then you can download images from the internet and put them on blank cards to use in your machine also. some websites have a lot for free, but the ones that cost are very inexpensive. the brother website offers free images too. good luck, and i hope you have fun.
