  1. Hello, I am looking for some advice from mothers that have used vesting with their child. My son is almost 3 and we have used the pressure vest in the past until the one he had got to small then his OT just brought him a weighted vest wich we are trying out now. I need to let her know soon if I want to use a pressure or a weighted vest. She has to order it before his 3rd birthday in order for insurance to pay for it and she can only order one or the other. He will wear both of them occasionally and sometimes I do wrestle with him to get them on and once they are on he is fine wearing them. My quiestion is since I have to pick one wich kind has worked best for your children? We are using them to try and help with his hyperactivity and roughness. Advice and Input is greatly appreciated!

We bought ours from Fun and Function.  www.funandfunction.com.  They were by far the best price.  Bronco didn't like his much but we keep trying.  It is a weighted/compression vest.
Good luck!

My son hates to wear  vest but will hold it in his lap. They can get costly. You can buy a small fishing vest and put small bean bags in. Or make a blanket yourself. But if not there are some great places on line just google it.

If not too late- or maybe will help others-  children can habituate to weighted vests (they can 'lose there effect over time), while pressure vests, don't appear to have that same issue

I'd consider if your child needs a short term "slow down" /reorganization tool, or more of a longer period of time modulation tool
