Herbs might be a good thing to try. You can bring them in when it starts getting cold and grow them inside in a sunny window. You could also try lettuce. It grows pretty quickly. What zone are you in?

I would like to do one for outside. I live in Central Florida. I would really like to do something outside for my kids. So we can get outside more often.

Go to a garden center and ask thier advise! not sure what will do well planted now.
