Carrot Question

I'd like to add carrots to our above ground garden.

How late is too late to plant them? Is there such a thing as carrot starters that can be transplanted?

Thanks :)

Carrots need to be started from seed.  It's not too late.  Carrots also benefit from a bit of cold, as it makes them sweet.

You might also try parsnips.
