People love reading success stories. It's encouraging, so I wanted to create a post that provides a place to tell your story! To get you going, here are some questions that you can answer, but feel free to just tell us of your success without answering all of the questions.
What fundraiser did you/organization participate in?
How many were invovled?
How long did you fundraise?
What marketing methods did you use (internet email, blogs, mailing, letters to parents/other, catalog, etc.)?
How much funds did you raise for your cause?
How will the money raised be used or who does it benefit?
We generally have to raise about $17K to cover basic expenses for operating costs, enrichements, family fund events, classroom supplies, and field trips, etc. Last year we ran a PTO Ideas' Educational Challenge Fundraiser . It was a huge success!
1. Earned about $13,000 in about 2 weeks. (That's 3 to 4 times our typical Fall fundraiser!)
2. Advertising - flyers & letters to parents
3. Expenses - only between $200-$300; The PTO was able to hold onto about 98% of the money donated by parents, grandparents, etc.
3. PTO funds go towards classroom supplies, enrichment programs, field trips, playground maintenance. But if you're looking for a great school project to put PTO money toward, here's a list... http://www.ptoideas.com/category/90/Spending-Funds
PTOIdeas.com : Parent-Teacher Organizations Sharing Ideas, like our exclusive, Educational Challenge Fundraiser
1) Our schools first fundraiser was Cherrydale
2) 119 students participated which is way better than last years first fundraiser
3) For 2 1/2 weeks, orders kept coming in
4) We had an Assembly for the kids, flyers for the parents, posters at the school, reminders were mentioned at the end of the day to the students, the students also had a brochure and catalog to show the products.
5) $7,000
6) With this fundraiser we are half way there to meeting our budget. It will be used for Assemblys, Field trips, money for kids to spend at Santa's Workshop and our Book Fair, Fall Festival, and Fun Day.
