What does it take to work from home AND be successful?

I have been very successful working from home but I have come across many moms who ask, "How do you do it? How are you so successful? How have you replaced YOUR income? I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing works!!" SO I decided to help anyone who is saying this to themselves right now! Here is the top five list that I created of "How to be a SUCCESSFUL work at home mom!"

1. Effort- Plain and simple...If you don't do the work you WON"T make any money!!! You have to treat ANY at home business just like a JOB!! You wouldn't expect to be CEO of a company and make millions of dollars a year just sitting around doing nothing would you?? This is the same concept, TREAT YOUR BUSINESS LIKE A JOB!!!
2.Time- You have to give your business TIME to grow! You can't work for 1 or two weeks and expect to be making tons of money!! Any good and legitimate business takes TIME to build. But is definitely worth it in the end!
3.Commitment- You HAVE to be able to commit yourself to working from home if you want to succeed. You can't just work your business when it's convenient! You have to commit to working everyday(or at least 5 days a week.) just like a real job!!! Remember you have to motivate yourself to do this because when you work from home the only boss you have is YOU!!
4.Belief in the product or service-I shouldn't even have to explain this but if you work for any company you have to believe in what you are working for!! By every product or service you can from them and learn all that you can about your company!!I love using this example to help people understand why I say this...You wouldn't see Sam Walmart walking down the isles of Target with a cart full of stuff would you? NO of course not! He shops with his company and no one elses, so whether it be legal services, health-care or makeup...SHOP FROM YOUR COMPANY!! And learn all you can about what they offer! Because the more you know the more you will make!
5.Belief in yourself- Straight to the point...If you DON"T believe you can succeed YOU WON"T! So stop trying to look for every opportunity you find to FAIL and start trying to make it work! Tell yourself, "I CAN DO THIS! AND I WILL MAKE THIS WORK FOR ME!!" And it will! The only people who don't succeed are the one's who never try!!

Well I hope this helps all of you moms out there looking to work from home!! I AM successful with what I do and I HAVE been able to replace my income and we are now working on replacing my husbands thanks to my AMAZING team and company AND the fact that I follow these 5 simple guidelines!!!!

Well Put!
And remember that those of us that are successful didn't become successful overnight, these things take time.  Rome was not built it a day.

Well said!! You also need to set weekly, monthly and yearly goals to have something to shoot for. If you don't achieve the goal, change the date, not the goal. I have found that making goal posters helps also. It keeps the end result in front of you for those days when you don't feel like working!! Good luck ladies!!!

I agree with this..here is my input as well. Here's a tip...weed out all the questionable businesses with a few simple questions:1. Is this something I would be proud to share with others?2.  Is this something that people actually need?3. Can anyone be hurt financially by trying this out?4. What is the company‘s reputation? Also, look at the compensation program.

Great Success To All!

You have to work your business consistently. I work for only 2-3 hours a day, BUT I work Mon-Fri when my 2 year old naps, off on weekends.  During those hours, I am not fiddling around doing organization or cleaning up, websearching. I am calling others to give out my access code to my green site, I am training, posting free business ads, and enrolling or inviting others to my business.

Hi Ladies,

I am new to this site. I am a wahm and I truely enjoy it and I agree 100% with the message above. It is not easy to work from home but once accomplished the rewards are priceless.
I tried many business's before I found my job. I am looking forward to meeting you all and making new friends working from home is sorta isolating. :)

I couldnt have said it better myself!!  Thanks for putting this out there for other moms to read!!  My home Biz is also doing GREAT. I also have replaced my income in under a year, and am working on helping my s/o with his own biz in landscape/horticulture!!  It is so exciting!!
