We have never had them at our parties, but I don't have anything against them ;)

I've had the pull string ones twice and the traditional one once and that time the stick broke and went flying across the room, thankfully no one was hurt. The kids had more fun the year with the traditional kind but i prefer the pull string for safety. This year I am making a pull string castle pinata.

Normally we didnt, we had a ton of other things so didnt feel the need, but for one daughters birthday quite some years ago when their was a kids show on at the time she loved and I loved too called PUzzle Place which celebrated multiple cultural traditions and diversities which is important for me with my kids and she wanted a puzzle place party and so for the party I incorporated a different birthday or celebration tradtion from each culture featured on the show and for Mexican I made her a pinata that looked like a character on the show called the Peace Police I let her help me make it so that was a special thing to do together too and it turned out soooo darling,

I think that was the only pinata we did that I recall off the top of my head
