Do you make a health a piority?
Do you add more fruits and veggies?
Make the cakes and cupcakes "light and healthy"?
Or do you think its once a year the more sugar the better?

I keep the sugary snacks to a bare minimum since cake and ice cream are involved.
I don't buy into the "once a year" theory because there's Halloween CANDY and Valentines CANDY and Easter CANDY and.....well, you get the picture!
I've not ever had one complaint or comment about the party foods I serve and I've done 10 years of home parties (never out at a location). All the foods are "named" to go along with the theme so eating them is much more fun!

I don't put much thought into it. I just make what me and my kids like and do the same with buying things. Hey the parents are there so if they don't want their kid to have something then they should tell them no. I know that's what I do when we go to parties. But every parent is not me.

I don't go crazy but I do add the veggies and fruits. Also egg whites and apple sauce in the cupcakes and cakes.I make salads and Light salad dressings to go with them. I figure why stop being healthy on that one day.
