 Birthday Party On A Budget

This is part two from my previous post on the homemade party decorations. I got them all completed and the party was a huge hit! I wanted this party to be super special for my special girl. Her first birthday was kind of just low key and we had a small party and didn't go all out on decorations and stuff. So we did it up right this go round, toddler style! lol. I can't believe she is TWO!!! Craziness fo'sho!

I set my party budget at $100 (not including her present. This budget was just for food and decorations). Most of the decorations were made of scrapbook paper that I already had on hand and the stuff I bought I waited till they were on sale at Joann's or Hobby Lobby. It took about 2 months with the planning and making everything. I worked on it all about one day a week. I wanted to give myself time to slowly do it and not rush it. I did go over budget by $20 with the balloons and mickey ears. lol. But both were a must!! So $120 for a 2 year old's birthday party, not too bad if I do say so myself. So here are some pics of what I made.

Some of the tools I used:
-2" Scalloped circles from BellaRoseCraft on Etsy
-Fiskars 2" Circle squeeze punch from Joann's
-1" mickey mouse heads from ebay
-lollipop sticks from Hobby lobby
-Red tulle from Hobby lobby
-Mickey Mouse font downloaded by the hubs for free
-Ribbon, glue, and paper I had on hand

Party Favors. M&M's.
I bought the scalloped circles from etsy for $3.75 and I used them on almost everything!!

Mickey Ears

Subway Sign
(with MM phrases and some of our own that are special to us. I wanted to use a black frame but only had a silver one in the size i needed, so i used black contruction paper to cover it.)

All the decor finally completed

Food Signs

Cupcake Toppers
complete w/ribbon and sticks. Mickey heads were only $1 for 20 of them on ebay. DEAL!! Once I ran out, I traced the last one and starting cutting them out myself. I also traced and cut minnie's bow and mickey's bottoms.

Name Banner
I used bowls and cups to trace the mickey mouse and circles. I could've just purchased them on etsy but I was trying to save $. The silver sparkle paper I got from Hobby lobby for $1. Way cheaper than buying glue and glitter and doing it yourself. Not to mention, not as messy either. lol

And it goes up! Party time = )

Here is the birthday girl in her NEW playroom. We named it her "Clubhouse" for the party to keep it with the theme and all. She had a BLAST and was soooo tired by the end of the night. The party was a
SUCCESS!!!!

For ours we couldnt find the mickey minnie ear headbands so we bought a bunch of plain black plastic headbands at $1 store and attached 2 blown up black balloons to the top for ears they were sooo cute and 3d the kids loved them and they looked darling in the pics lol we added bows on the girl ones.
