My dd was just born in May and my bf thinks I'm going over board trying to make her 1st holiday season amazing. Am I?

I dont think so. I think every holiday is special and the way you choose to celebrate it is up to you. If you want to go full out then hey do it.

I'm making most of my seasonal decorations so it's saving me a fortune and we are mostly letting her play with boxes lol

I would my the holiday special in the way you would like it to be two tings I would keep in mind are ( 1) do not go so crazy you have to spend the next year paying it off and (2) get a baby Christmas ornament one that has a place for the baby's picture it will mean and mean to you with each passing year.
