See what CafeMoms are saying about saving time this holiday season..
My name is Pebbles. I have 2 kids, a boy age 10 and a girl age 8. We live in a small town and birthday locations are limited. Plus our daughters birthday is in early January. With Halloween, Thanksgiving, the Christmas holidays, then New Years all what feels like is one on top of the other by the time her birthday comes around finances are a bit tight. Which is yet another reason Ive been looking into looking into at home work. Anyway, what Ive been doing for my son and daughter are birthday parties at school. About a month in advance I have a meeting with her/his teacher to get permission for a class party, a day, and a time. Every year so far each teacher has been great with this idea as long as the time is during recess. Instead of a cake, I buy cupcakes with some sort of happy birthday theme from a grocery store and I make each student a treat bag along with a "thank you for celebrating my birthday with me" note. So far this has been working great for us! It's been cheaper, more fun and my kids get to spend their birthday with all their friends. OH and so far the teachers have been real nice about letting a handful of family members join us as well. The entire experince helps everyone bond closer together..parents, teachers family and friends!
If this idea is already posted somewhere around here, Im so sorry to repeat it. Lets face it, there's alot to read and I have to start dinner Either way I hope it helps and happy birthday to all your babies!
