We've been living here in Milwaukie for about a year and a half but I don't get out to check out the sights very often. Does anyone have a suggestion for a really good park that I can take my toddler to? I'd like her to get some exercise and meet some other kids but I'm not sure where to go. She's been too little to really worry about it before but now she's at the right age and she wants to play with other kids really badly.
Anything's appreciated. Thanks!

There are quite a few good ones, actually. I usually take my kids up to the one off of Risley Rd & River Rd. because that's close to us. We actually spent quite a bit of time there last summer and would often pick up picnic stuff and spend a late afternoon/early evening or sometimes the better part of a Saturday or Sunday there. Where exactly in Milwaukie are you?

We like to go to North Clackamas park off of the express way. there is a dog park area, a big playground and even a baby playground area.
Not quite sure where in Milwaukie you are at.

I'm real close by to you, then! I'm right behind The Porterhouse off of Oak Grove Blvd. We should get together there when the weather warms up a bit. It's really easy to get to. Just go down Oak Grove Blvd towards River Rd, take a left turn at the stop sign and follow the road (it goes straight a bit, then kinda winds to the left. Follow the road (I don't remember the name) and take a right on Risley Rd. Just a bit down Risley, you'll see the park on the left. Hope that helps.

Hi everyone! Allyson and I go to Risley park all the time (or we did.. last summer). We should definitely plan a get together at the park when it starts to be nicer on a more consistant basis. That would be great!
We live off of Jennings.. so the Strawberry Lane park is actually closest... but I like Risley the best for the swings and structures.

I actually went down to Risley park yesterday (thanks for the suggestion ladies!) And met a woman name Heidi and her daughter G.G. I'm supposed to give them a call one day to get the girls down to the park.
I really liked the park a lot and Logan thought it was fantastic. I would really love to get together with everyone though. The kids can occupy themselves while mommies talk!

I agree! Maybe we should set at date of some sort if we can just show. Like maybe Tuesday Feb 26th at 10am. If it rains we can make other plans.
Risley park it is then.
Anybody else on board?

I would prefer a Sunday (or Saturday afternoon). Weekends are the only time I could meet up; And Saturdays we are doing music classes at the Harmony Road music center (for the next 15 weeks). ~ kind of fun if you've ever thought your kids would be interested in music.
Don't let me change your Tuesday... I'll suggest a weekend when it gets nicer too. ~
Happy Friday!
