Need a little assistance here

I am in search of some feedback from our members.
I like that we can chat through CafeMom (found that there was a want/need for DE Moms to meet up), however, I thought the best way to find out when the majority of the moms were available to meet up, I would run polls through Yahoo Groups. So in signing up for a Yahoo Group, I submitted several polls to run & put a message on the board here on how to do it (first asking to be a member since I had to make it a closed group & not open to the public). I am experiencing some difficulty getting members to actually go over to the site to join & vote in the polls. I am not quite sure if the difficulty lies with members not wanting to do it, not knowing how to do it, or not knowing that they should do it.
I will let you know about the polls that I am running through Yahoo Groups below:
I was asking where everyone is located (which county - New Castle, Kent, or Sussex) because I don't want anyone excluded in meeting other DE Moms.
Another few polls I was running was where & when members would like to meet up (what day & time were best & what location was best). I had that you could vote for Sunday-Saturday (any day of the week), vote for 2 hour increments beginning at 9a-11a, 10a-12p, 11a-1p, 12p-2p, 1p-3p, 2p-4p, & the locations I was suggesting (of course it isn't limited to these, but when I was asking on this site, no one gave any suggestions) were: Chuck E. Cheese (eat & play), a McDonalds w/ a play place (eat & play), library (meet in the kids section & possibly attend a storytime), xBos Fun Center, Boomers Fun Center, Moonbounce Adventure (in Kennett Square - able to order pizza & inflatables to bounce in), Brandywine zoo (picnic & visit the animals), Paper Mill Park or another park (play on playset, bring snack or lunch?), or possibly a place located in Kent county (not sure what places are there since I am from NCCo.).
Would members prefer me to do things all through CafeMom instead of just clicking on our link on this site to take you to Yahoo Groups & then to click on a few vote buttons? I just thought it would be more organized since it would be grouped through each poll & everyone would get an email in their inboxes when the polls close.
This groups is for all DE Moms so I don't want to exclude people by doing it in a way that they don't want to do things in. I would appreciate any & all feedback, please.

by jholmes on Apr. 2, 2007 at 3:57 PMWhen you are on our CafeMom DE Moms group site, look to the left where there is a list of words written in blue. The 6th word down says LINKS. Click on it. Once on that page there is our name in blue underlined. Click on that & it will take you directly to Yahoo Groups. I have also added polls to this site since I am having trouble getting people to go over to Yahoo & now that CafeMom added the polls I figured I would try it out. The only problem is that you can't vote for more than one. Oh well! Thanks for going over to Yahoo Groups to answer the polls!! - Jamie |
