I had abdominal surgery a week ago. What are some natural things I can do for swelling? I am eating pineapple.

1 mom liked this

My piano teacher was an 80 year old woman. I remember one time that she hurt her arm and had to keep it in a sling. It was black and blue and swollen so badly it was hard to the touch. She started drinking apple cider vinegar and honey water and the swelling went away and the mobility came back.

Her recipe:
1/4 cup Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3 cup honey (preferably raw and unfiltered)
Put in a gallon jug and fill the rest of the way with water. Mix well.

homeopathic arnica is a remedy specific for trauma, bruises, swelling.  in the language of TCM, it moves Qi (Chi).

I second arnica montana gel.  It's a staple in our cabinet--we use it primarily on bruises with swelling.
