Welcome, Group Rules

Welcome to my new group. I was searching around cafemom for a group such as this and I was unable to find one, so I decided to start my own. I really do not know much about home remedies, or herbs. But I have read many articles on the subject and I find it fascinating. As of right now, we do not have medical insurance and taking the family to the Dr is just too expensive. So I am hoping that there are some wise ladies out there on cafemom who can give practical advice and great alternatives to traditional medicine.

The only rules I have are NO CUSSING, NO MAGIC SPELLS KIND OF THING.

I want to say that I am a born-again Christian. I am amazed at the different plants and things that God gave us. I know that alot of times people that are into herbs and home remedies are into mother earth, inner well being, mysticism, magic spells, that kind of thing. So I ask that you please refrain from that sort of thing and just give herbal solutions to some common problems.

I think that's pretty much it, I'm excited to see what you ladies have to say.

Thank you for starting this group.  My family is in the same situation w/ no health insurance at the moment.  So, any information for herbal/home remedies would be a God send!

Thank you for making this group!  It's so hard to find an herbal group that doesn't have to do with witchcraft.  I used to be heavily into witchcraft and I strive to stay as far away from it as possible.  So thank you!

I have a huge interest in natural healing. The only thing I use a doctor for is to have blood taken and sent to the lab for results. My grandmother had lucemia and was given a couple years to live, 20 years before she died. Natural medicine is what kept her alive so long. I am also a practicing Muslim who believes the Quran when it tells us, there is cure on this earth for every illness.

I think it's awesome that you started this group, and thank you for posting that sweet photo of your family -- just beautiful! Your kids all have such nice names, too :)

I too believe God created everything -- incl the herbs, etc -- and that they're for our good if used properly, etc. On the contrary, pharmaceutical drugs are not always for our good.

I think it's great you want to keep out all the new age, earth-worshipping stuff -- it's so unfortunate that it infiltrates so much of the natural remedy world.

Bless you, and thanks again.

Thanks for such a great group!  I have been looking for one just like this.  I am a SAHM of three and I have been practicing herbal and folk remedies for almost 18 years.  I love using herbals and alternative medicine to help my family and friends out.  I also enjoy growing and harvesting herbs out of the garden.

Glad I found this group! I am always looking for a natural way to heal things before conventional meds. I have an autoimmune disorder and also allergies such as I get older. Cant wait to get to know  you all!

Hello,
I am glad I found this group.  I just started getting into the herbal remedies.  I dont trust the drug companies completely.  I would rather try things that God gave us first rather than a synthetic option.  I am hoping to learn a lot here and if I stumble across a good remedy I will be sure to share.  Thanks for forming this group.  Look forward to chatting.

Just wanted to introduce myself.  I've been practicing natural remedies for several years now.  However, there is so much to learn in this field, that I actually know very little.  It is my hope that I can offer what I know and receive more education.  When I received my degree in massage therapy, I I learned quite a bit there, as well.

I will not discuss what I believe or don't believe re: religion as that has nothing to do with this group.
