A good way to boost protein is through poultry, eggs are good sources, the protein water, nuts are also a good source but you have to be careful not to over eat because just a few tbsp are high in fat/calories content as well. I take an iron supplement. I'm borderline anemic so I have to have some iron or I am just wore out during the day. I buy the pills at wal-mart and take one everyday. Also, B-12 is a good metabolism booster and it promotes red blood cell production. Hope this helps!!

I have also been borderline anemic for quite a long time. But I can't take iron pills. They are just too hard on my stomach. I thought I might let you know that is a possibility, that if you have any problems after, it could be from them. Also adding iron will give you darker stools, so dont be alarmed. They do have iron in liquid form. You look for it in the kids medicine section. You can add the liquid to drinks or even into your food. Hope it helps a little.

Iron...Beets is great

Liver is great for protein dont yukky:)  eggs also will help

vitamins may help also b6 and b12 may help but be careful because a lot of vitamins dont even absorb in your body and they end up crystalizing in small intestines giving more free radicals and reducing nutrition.  I may be able to recommend some products to you if you want just let me know.
