Well it finally happened. It showed up on my 360. BUT after shutting it off for a while, it was green again and played. I'm confused. I thought when it showed up than that ment either have it fixed or kiss it goodbye. Anyone else run into this problem with theirs? We opened up the part where the cd's go in and blasted it with that can of air cuz it was dusty but I don't know if that fixed the problem.
I FIXED IT!!!
When we first got the red rings we was able to shut it off then true back on and play it was like every other time we would get red rings with in a week that's all we would get.Our was still under warranty so we sent it in and they they fixed it took a week for us to get it back.
You got the other one. There were 2 red ring problems. One was fatal and the other a nuisance. The fatal (red ring of death) one is when the bottom 2 and top left light up. And the other (just plain red ring) is bottom 2 and top right light up. The one you had could have been caused by a variety of things like a power surge.
It didn't happen when I was playing it, but when my SO was. I was talking to him about what you said and he mentioned and now that I think about it, that it all the lights were red. All 4 of them. So do you know what that means?

I found this: http://editorials.teamxbox.com/xbox/1651/The-Red-Ring-of-Death/p1/
If all four lights are flashing on the front of your console, this is perhaps the easiest problem to fix. This is an issue with the AV cable not being properly inserted into the back of the console. The cure? Just make sure the cord “clicks” once it has been inserted into the unit. If that doesn’t work, of course call the repair center, but the four lights are the easiest of the problems to rectify.
Also, you might want to make sure the AV cord is not damaged.
Yep, happened to hubby too, but this is the SECOND time we've had this issue. Since his warranty JUST expired, he's using my 360 until we buy him a new one. Dang you Microsoft!!!
My husband has an Xbox 360 it hasnt done that yet is there a way to prevent it or is it something that happens to all of them?
Don't even get me started we had ours brad spaning new when it stopped working, no ring of death. We sent it in and they send us back someone else's beat up crappy machine. We sent it back because the tray did not work and where told that getting someone else machine was the way they do it.I was so pissed. We got another pne that worked. The tray started getting stuck and than bam one day it was the ring of death, hubby got in to a big argument with Microsoft and they gave in and fixed it for free, we got a new new machine and haven't had a problem yet.I also told hubby to put it some place where it will stay cool. Before he had it on top pf the tv.
