Hello and recipe for Cream Caramel Cake

Hi. I am new to the group so I thought I would say hello with a sweet recipe that everyone raves about. I get requests for this one a lot. Enjoy! - Karen

CREAM CARAMEL CAKE

2 sticks butter, softened
3 c sugar
6 eggs
2-2/3 c all-purpose flour
1/4 t baking soda
1 t salt
8-ounce carton sour cream
1 T high quality vanilla extract

Frosting:
1/2 stick butter
2 c light brown sugar
1/2 c evaporated milk
1/2 t high quality vanilla extract
4 c 10X confectioners' sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter and sugar until very fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together. Alternating, add flour and sour cream to butter mixture. Add in vanilla. Pour batter into three 9-inch prepared pans. Bake for approx 30 minutes (or until toothpick comes out clean). Remove from oven and cool on racks for 10 minutes, then remove from pan. Let rest until completely cooled.

Frosting:
Melt butter; add brown sugar and milk. Cook 2-3 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour over confectioners' sugar and beat until nice and smooth. Let cool just a little bit before frosting the layers.
