Dd is going through tryouts right now. Last coach didn't seem to think she hit well enough to earn her much play time.

During tonight's tryout, the coach was throwing to the girls and many were struggling. My dd hit two all the way to the 200 foot fence and hit one over! It was her first - something her hitting instructor has been telling her first weeks she can do. We're hoping now that she truly knows she can do it, we'll see a few more of them! Even if she doesn't make this team, that moment made it worth going to the tryout.

If that coach doesn't take her with hitting those bombs then it is his loss. Good Luck!!

Sadly, this team did not pick her up. They are staying at 11 players which meant they only had one infield position open. My dd is really just an infielder and they wanted some more utility in nature. Dd is really struggling right now as we have been unable to find a team that (1) wants her, (2) she wants to play for,  (3) is going to help her improve and (4) won't be an issue when it some to high school ball. (We live in a metro area that crosses a state line where high school ball seasons are different between the two states.) She's feeling very rejected right now and is struggling between finding the desire to go to more tryouts and not wanting to explain down the road that she didn't play with any one the season before. :(

Sorry he didn't take her. Like I said his loss. You would be surprised how many coaches I hear say Damn I wish I took her when they see them play later. Everytime one coach that turned my DD away sees her hit , he says he regrets it especially when we beat his team because of her bombs. I thank him everytime cause I am so happy with my DD's team and organization. Another option so she doesn't have to explain why not playing is to play another sport. Alot of the softball girls I know play volleyball in the fall. Keeps them in great shape and is fun. Wish you DD luck in whatever she does!!!!
