Hi everyone! I'm new to the group.I really think we should get it going again.I'm on Cafemom pretty much everyday while the kids nap or at night after bedtime. It's nice to meet other mommies with kids Cameron's age and see what they are doing and how are handling them. lol. They are soooo much fun at this age.I love it!!

Anyway, to the questions. Is anyone potty training yet? I am getting a potty seat this weekend just to set in the bathroom because he has started to show interest in the toilet. He goes with me to the bathroom every time.lol but i think he is intimidated by the big potty. My older son was potty trained at 2 1/2 , so i think its about time right? and another when can they have popcorn?I'm afraid to give it to him because of the kernels.I don't want him to choke or hurt his teeth.

Thanks mommies, hope to get this group going.xoxo  Kellen

I think it's supposed to be no popcorn until age 4, but I let Bryton have it.  I just make sure I'm right there while he's eating it.  The most we've done for potty training is we bought a seat that goes on the toilet (he refuses to use a potty chair, probably because he sees everyone else using the big potty).  He doesn't actually go usually, but he likes to sit there.

Thank you. That's what i thought about the popcorn, as long as i'm there with him. As far as potty training, that should be fun. lol

Hi!  Welcome to the group.  I also love this group and would love to see it more active again.  We have bought Noah a potty seat and he sometimes likes to sit on it, and he even sits his stuffed animals on it and says potty potty, but we haven't been actively trying to get him to go.  He doesn't want to sit long enough on it.  I am a teacher, so I plan on starting when I am off for the summer so I can focus more on it and he doesn't have as many transitions.

As for popcorn, I don't give it to Noah, like you I am too scared.  Plus, I know how it gets stuck in my teeth and stuff and I wouldn't want that to happen to him.

Hi! Kevin is not showing the typical signs of potty training, so I won't even attempt until he's at least 2. I know in daycare he has popcorn, but I'm like you, I'm afraid of choking so I never give it to him.

I have started gently potty training, sitting him on the toilet when he takes his diaper off himself and putting big boy underwear on him when we are at home to get him use to the concepts.

I do give my son popcorn and have for a few months.  He loves it, I just have to watch him.  Usually he does fine, but once in a while he tries to put a handful in his mouth and that's where we have problems.

Hey! Welcome to the group!  I bought Aidan a potty seat a while back and he will pee on it if I sit him on it, but other than that, he isn't really interested in it.   I figured I would start him training after he turns 2 maybe.  I don't give Aidan popcorn yet, I give him the Puffcorn, it is like popcorn but without the hulls and stuff.  He loves it.
