What is your favorite quote about adoption of all time? It can be a poem or a line from a song or something you've heard or something you've made up. Let's hear it. There may just be a suprise for everyone once we get a good list going!

My favorite is from a song by Michael McLean called "From God's Arms to My Arms to Yours". The song is written from the point of view of a firstmother. At the end of it it says,
"I'm just trusting in my feelings,
And I'm trusting God above,
And I'm trusting you can give this baby
Both his mothers' love.
chorus:
And maybe, you could tell your baby,
When you love him so, that he's been loved before,
By someone, who delivered your son,
From God's arms, to my arms, to yours."
If you haven't heard any of Michale McLean's songs, you should. Many of them are about adoption and absolutely beautiful.

I dont know who said it, but all I know is its the truth.
Quoting why_me124:I love that. I agree.
"A Birthmother puts the needs of her child above the wants of her heart"
I dont know who said it, but all I know is its the truth.

"In my wildest dreams, I could not have imagined the feelings that motherhood would awaken in me. Adoption has healed my heart, and renewed my faith. Each day, I am inspired to be the best parent I can, by the simple fact that our children's birthmothers and God have entrusted them to us!"

I gave up my son when Garth Brooks was really big, 14 years ago I met my son's parents.
Anyway, Garth had a song that talks about the way it might have been. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the song, but even now, if I hear it on the radio my thoughts go back and
I ALWAYS cry.
Okay, for me it relates to adoption. It's all about how one looks at things, right?

I'm not sure this is the one, but I'm on the adoptive parent side of the triad and when I hear this song by Garth Brooks, I always cry because I know that if my prayers had been answered anytime in the 5 years of tryin to get pregant, I wouldn't have my son.
"Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers"
Feel the love.
Adopt.
November is National adoption month.
Maybe I will hear it soon to know for sure.
The song talks about a lost love and not knowing if you made the right decision to not follow it. Then later he realizes he did make the right decision.
It just reminds me that sometime you take a road in blind faith not knowing if you made the right decision or not.
Your reply touched me. I needed to read that. My son's parents had waited over 10 years for a baby and they were HUGE Garth Brooks fan's.
