Got to spend a few days with the family from my failed adoption

It's hard to believe that it's been almost a year since Lily was born. Her entire family came to visit me in PA from their home in KY. We went to a show on the campus where i work and to H ershey Chocolate WOrld then spent the next day at the beach in a local state park. I'm looking forward to my visit to KY for Lily's first birthday. Christina is going to add the middle name I was going to use to Lily's name and they are going to make me guardian of the kids in the event that anything would happen to them as parents. I'm so honored and excited. It seems that our relationship is the exception to the rule but I"m so glad. I get to be mommy Heather and that's so much more mommy than I was before. Pics to come soon.

I am glad to hear that your adoption is an exception to the rule. My open adoption with my birth daughter's parents is an exception to the rule as well. Maybe we can change the rule of adoption, uh? It is an honor when we get to be a part of our birth children's life. Good luck with your visit! M~

well she is not my birthchild but was supposed to be my adopted daughter. I guess we are unique in that we are still very close even though the adoption didn't happen. She still says that LIly is half mine so I'm lucky to have that.
