VERY EXCITING..As of April 25, PA will enact a law to make open adoptions finalized in PA enforceable. So happy. It will apply to private and foster adoption open plans. PA is also really advertising a registry for birthparents so that adoptees can find out health info on their birth families should they ever need it.

Having a hard time finding this info. Open adoption agreement is Senate Bill 1360 Act 101 of 2010 http://www.pennsylvaniavotes.org/2010-SB-1360 In my handout, it states that the court will determine if the agreements are in the best interest of the child.
Act 101 also improves access to adoption records.
More info can be found at www.porchlightproject.org it lists on my handout.
here is local paper's take on it. http://www.lancasterlawblog.com/2011/01/articles/adoption/open-adoptions-are-now-legally-enforceable-in-pennsylvania/
