I don't think I've come across any challenges specifically related to race yet... although my kids are only 5 and 1, so that may come in time.

Racism with in my family
TOTALLY, i really get this alot with our family. my kids are the first non-white kids in my family, and my step-sister's son was the 2nd (my oldest is 4 months older than her's). most of the time my family just needs to deal with their issues with their mouths shut.
Hi,the hardest thing was making my kids aware of racism.
My kids are now 12 and 19....well rounded and happy.
They get its the haters problem and not them. They are perfect:)
I am so proud of them:)

For example, my mom and dad went to my sisters house for Xmas, then over to my brothers to be with their kids... She visits them both all the time. They have been here once in a year and when they are they stay at a hotel because mom isn't comfortable in my house.
It used to make me sad but at the end of the day it is what it is. I believe they love me and my kids they are just older and certain things are hard to wrap their heads and hearts around
My kids are very light. I think the hardest thing is when people think their dad is their babysitter because the coloring is so different.

I always get asked if she's mine and when I say yes they say Oh, liked they're surprised and then say she's beautiful. Or my other favorite one is, "Is her dad black? "
