Help with hair!!

My daughter's hair is very different from mine and I don't really know what products to put in it. I have tried to avoid the products with petroleum and other ingredients and have opted for more natural products. I've used Carol's Daughter, Shea Moisture, and just plain old coconut oil and her still looks dry. Her hair just seems to soak up anything that's put in it. My daughter's African American daycare provider keeps telling me that her hair is dry and that I need to put "grease" in it. What else can I use in her hair so it isn't so dry? Thanks!

I dont oil my daughter scalp but I do keep her hair conditioned and moistured. But you need to find what works for your daughter hair.

I've used the olive oil stuff before and I didn't like it much. Her hair is just soooooo thick and crazy!

I think great thing about biracial hair us you can have the wet and wavylook or the dry look. From the pov it looks fine for the wild a free look. You don't want her hair greasy. water
moisturizes hair not grease but you can use a heavy oil to seal in the moisture after you spray it with water mixed with a moisturizing conditioner like humectress. You can get this stuff called unpetroleum jelly at the health food store. It will seal inter moisture like "grease" but contains no petroleum or mineral oil then braid her hair or band it at night and when you comb it out in the morning it should be moister and tangle free.

Hi! You're a great mom to seek help on caring for your daughter's hair. I'm African American and have tried lots of products in my life. But more important than products, be sure to not wash her hair too frequently. That dries out Black hair. Every 4 days works for me...try spacing out washes until you find what's best for her. A little dab of hair"grease" can definitely help.Any brand, and you just need a tiny amount. An oil sheen spray can add a nice sheen that's not heavy. Use a quality leave in conditioner. The best I've tried for all of us (Black, Caucasian and biracial hair) is Biolage Daily Leave In Tonic. It's incredibly moisturizing. Sorry for long post but hope info helps :-)
