Hello!
Glad to be here and start connecting with other Lmommas! Few and far between are the connections in our midsized midwest city. Hoping to hear about experience, hope, and humor. We are in a commited relationship spanning 7 years. We have been foster parents for 3 years. We did attempt 3 AIs, 3 years ago as well, but it grew too costly too quickly without any positive results. We are excited about a foster-to-adopt situation to come through!

My wife and I just got married and are trying for number 3. We have three failed attempts. As with everyone else there are multiple factors. I am 40, I/we have 2 from my previous relationship, and cost.
I would love to hear your thought on how you decided it was the right time to stop trying, and proceeding down plan B.
Thanks
Renee
Welcome to the group....I am in Toledo, OH.....where in the midwest are you?

Hi there! We are foster to adopt also, with three successful adoptive placements. We tried several sessions of AI with no positive results, hormones, surgury to clean out some junk, and got into fostering 5 years ago. Our first placement was newborn twins, our second placement was a newborn girl. We have adopted all of them. We are looking for a brown brother to round out our family...
the girls+1: We had always wanted to foster and foster-adopt. I had also always wanted to become pregnant. We did 3 rounds of AI and cost became too prohibitive and the heartbreak of negative pregnancy tests were too much. In the meantime we were already doing short-term/emergency repsite foster care on the weekends mainly. Then we took another class in 'permanency' and became long-term care fosterparents.

What a beautiful family! I hope you succeed in a 'brown boy' to round out your sibling group!
We are starting with a 15 y/o girl! Well, we have interviewed and been approved by her case manager. She will be told by her CM and therapist next week that there is a family interested in her. Hopefully she will be interested in us!

we have also recently made inquiries on a teen girl... she is asking for parents who are "eccentric and different." Well, we are going to find out just what that is a euphamism for in her case!
We have been visiting successfully with our 15 y/o foster2adopt girl for 2 weeks now. We start community visiting this month with overnights hopefully to begin in April! She is bright, funny, strong, and beautiful!
Have you heard about your teen girl yet?!
