Have you studied cupping at all?  Do you like it, either giving or receiving?  And is it contraindicated for a nursing mother?

See other posts on this group by searching the group using the words "cupping".

Here is one currently : cupping link

Cupping is a useful tool to loosen phlegm, aiding the body in expressing stagnant phlegm and bi products of cold/flu in lungs.  When in doubt get a Dr's ok for massage if your not sure on a patient.  As long as the nursing mother is comfortable lying face down and is comfortable with the thrusting pressure of cupping then technique is useful.

The only reason I see you not being able to cup on her is if she is not eligible for a massage in the first place, do your contraindicated questionnaire.  Get a full health history on her.  And again, get a MD's written ok if your in doubt.

PM me if you have more Q.
