Rusty Nail Wound

DO NOT try this cure unless you know you have a current tetanus booster in effect! If you’re not sure - go directly to your Doctor or the ER for a shot.

The main reason a rusty nail wound can be so dangerous is that it’s a puncture wound that closes almost immediately - trapping all the bacteria deep inside your skin. Topical antiseptics and antibacterial creams are practically useless because they’re not penetrating into the wound.

However, there is a home remedy and natural cure for this type of wound. The minute you remove the nail from your foot, squeeze the wound and make it bleed. The blood that you force out, also washes out contamination. Before the wound has a chance to close completely, soak your foot in a bucket of the hottest water you can stand and 1 cup of Epsom salts - soak until the water is cold.

Grate or shred in a food processor, one potato - skin and all. Pack this around your wound, and wrap with loose gauze. Let this stay on the wound overnight. Take off in the morning and wash well with water.

You wound and foot should be good as new within 24 hours!

I have to ask - what does the potato do?
