Did anyone get baby to sleep for 7-8 hour stretches without CIO?

1. At what age did it happen?

2.  What did you do?

With my DD she eventually did it after she weaned herself from the breast at 16 months so I didn't do anything she was just most likely ready at that point but she was always a pretty goos night sleeper.

DS on the other hand has always been a bad sleeper and is 21 months and still waking 2-3x's a night to nurse. He's gotten better but isn't very consistant. I've started the weaning process so I'm hoping that will help

Yep. Started about 8 weeks. We do have bad nights. Usually teeth or sick are whats wrong. He is a horrible napper. We will NOT stay asleep. So I guess he just passes out!

Yep! At around 2-3 months, I started a bedtime routine with ds. It was simple, we had a bath, I massaged him with baby lotion, swaddled him up and nursed him to sleep.

During the day, I would be aware of his naps, and rather than wake him up if he slept too long, I would try to keep him up as long as possible during the day. This worked almost immediately, and lasted for about 4 weeks until we moved, and then the environment was thrown off. I haven't been able to get him to sleep like that anymore.
