All Purpose Cleaner~
Get a 16 oz spray bottle.
add 1 c white vinegar, 1 tsp salt, & fill with water & add about 15 drops of essentail oil for scent. try lavender or sweet orange oil.
*salt works as a disinfectant!!

Laundry Detergent~
Need 1 bar of Kirk's castile soap~(all natural, coconut oil soap sold in most stores pretty cheap too!!)
Borax~now called 20 mule team borax-in laundry isles of most stores.
Washing Soda~by Arm & Hammer (but it's not baking soda) it's called Super Washing Soda and in some stores.
Shred the soap with a box grater (cheese grater) ~watch the knuckles!!. Put into a bucket and about 3 cups of each the soda & borax. Mix together to combine. Add about 5-6 cups of hot water to melt the soap and combine all ingredients. It will become a thick paste after it cools. Use about 1/4-1/2 cup per load.

Tub ~n~ Sink Scrub~
1 2/3 c baking soda, 1/2 c liquid soap (castile or dish), 2 T vinegar, Add 1/2 water & mix. Store in a squeeze bottle w/flip top lid. Shake to combine before using & rinse away resdue after use.

Cleaning ingredients vary in the type of health hazard they pose.

**Some cause acute, or immediate, hazards such as skin or respiratory irritation, watery eyes, or chemical burns, while others are associated with chronic, or long-term, effects such as cancer.

The most acutely dangerous cleaning products are corrosive drain cleaners, oven cleaners, and acidic toilet bowl cleaners**
according to Philip Dickey of the Washington Toxics Coalition.

drain cleaner
~add to a pot of boiling water 1 c baking soda & 1c of vinegar.Pour down drain, then flush with tap water.

oven cleaner~Baking soda with a small amount of vinegar to make paste. Rub on to oven, and let sit for about 20 minutes, and wipe away with warm wet cloth. May need to wipe/rinse twice to remove the residue.

toilet bowl~sprinkle borax in bowl. add 1/2 c vinegar & scrub with brush.

~Who needs that chemical garbage anyway!!!

I absolutely love the tub-n-sink scrub. I use it on my dishes as well.....

Oh, Target has the best prices on Borax, and at Costco, you can get the best deal on Vinegar and Baking Soda.....

Kirks Soap is difficult to find in the Sac area. I found it at Long's and Safeway. Safeway has 3 bars for $2.88.....
