Hello everyone, I am new to this group, but belong to a few others, but I am currently enrolled in the junior college, this is my first time ever going to college. I did not graduate from high school, but I finally received my GED last October. My is goal to become a lawyer, but sometimes I feel so old. I am going through a NASTY divorce. We have lost basically everything because of my stbx. So I thought, it is time to take care of myself and my children and to never rely on anyone again. My first semester I started off with only 2 classes, so I think next semester I am going to start going to school full time, this way I can get my BBA faster. I will just live off loans and goverment help. Does anybody have any suggestions. My only concern is my 8 year old dd. I just don't want to take any time away from her. It is hard enough with the divorce.
Don't take too much on, if you have adjusted to two classes that's a great first step. My suggestion would be take three next, and then go from there. Remember life is a journey, not a race, and you will do great. You will also be a great role model to your daughter, and you can teach her the importance of school, and her education! Good luck, your off to a great start.
Hi,
Your never ever too old to go to school. And hun your only 40 that's FAR FAR FAR FAR from being old! Going back to school is a huge thing, and I hope everything workds out for you. I started going back to school this past October working full-time and taking care of two little monsters lol...it's a lot but where there is a will there is a way! Good Luck!
