Can anyone look at this please and tell me why the answer on number two is the answer it is. I'm trying to study for my placement test for my school and I dont understand how the answer is what the answer is with how the picture looks? Thank you!! http://www.act.org/compass/sample/geometry.html

you have to add PL plus LM to get PB. Then PA = PL (5). You just have to read it carefully, it is easy to compare it to the given information but the equation is reversed and you are looking at the total length for PB rather than one of the shorter sides.

The problem that I have is the diagram is completely wrong for the answer to be that. If its the same length, they need to make the diagram look like its the same length. Because in the picture it is not. Its just confusing. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing someting because according to the picture, that answer shoudl not be that.

I don't remember the exact rules and proofs of geometry but I looked at it without checking the answer and that is what I got. You have to choose the "best" answer if it is not a write in and that is by far the best option. They did not offer you a review guide with formulas to get you started?
