A friend started this idea, and the kids have really run with it. We are buying and hanging a stocking for Jesus. Then, each day after Thanksgiving, they will put in a slip telling what they are thankful for. I can also add slips of paper telling what they did that was extra kind or helpful that day. Then, on Christmas, they will dump out the papers and read them out loud so that Jesus will know what they are giving him for his birthday.
So this got me thinking. Do you keep a gratitude journal? Are you thankful daily? I think what sets the kids' idea apart is that they will share their thoughts. As adults, we lock them away and won't share them. If you are thankful for something, do you tell your DH? I try to tell mine every day that I'm thankful for him.
I just wanted to share this with all of you. Maybe it will inspire you to come up with something for yourself or your family.
