is it true that only doing cardio without weight training will not decrease bodyfat?

My doc says no weight training due to arthritis and FM, so I'm biased and I stick to cardio...

yeah i love cardio, but the trainers at my gym keep telling me that without weighttraining i wont lose as much bodyfat, im not looking forward to weight training i start today, sore muscles etc...i though excersce was just excerces, i didnt realize it was so complicated, i was always told the best workout was walking or running.

My understanding is that you can lose it with just cardio but can lose it alot faster if you throw in some weight training too.

When I was just doing cardio, I didn't see the weight come off very fast. But when I started doing circuit training (weights) I dropped twelve pounds within weeks. Weight training gets your metabolism going better is whatmy trainer said.

Try lifting a little less then you did.

i do the treadmill and then all the nautilus machines i just love them !
i have some sore muscles too, but that just tells me i did a good work out. and wnen i get up off the couch and moving, or go to work , after a short time, my muscles warm up, loosen up and feel better and i got thru a nite at work (as a CNA in a LTC facility wiping butts all nite)  i got thru it, no problem..  when i first went in, omg i hurt so much from the gym, chin splints and all..lol
the nautilus/weight training will help tone the new body you are trying to find  ! its important.
i have Fibromyalgia...and i do the nautilus.  although i never ask my doctor.
did u say you have that also ?
