I work in child care and i am up and down on the floor. no problem. Why cant I keep taking this stuff. I feel like a real person i could cry because after this week it is back to pain.

If you keep using it your bones would become brittle. A friend of mine that went through chemo was put on it longterm and he now has osteosporosis at 55, already had his hip and shoulder replaced. For short term, steroids are a blessing. I know, I have asthma. But long term, no way!

Have you let your doctor know how much the steroids help? It could actually open up a new avenue of treatment for you. I definitely do agree that long-term steroid use is not a great option and has many drawbacks. But they can be used on a short-term basis to force our bodies to stop fighting themselves. Steroids are frequently used that way in patients with Lupus, another autoimmune condition. Historically, there are issues with weight gain but you may not have that much of a problem if you use them in short stints. Hang in there!!
