I was perscribed Cymbalta for my fibromyalgia. Does anyone else have experience with this perscription? I would love to hear pros and cons. Side effects. Etc.
I have been taking it for about a week now and am noicing some differences. I have been sleeping better at night, able to wake up better in the mornings, and have not been having mood swings either.
I haven't had a cryng jag or angry streak in 4 days now, and I can atually move with out wanting to cry from the pain.
My doctor said I might have depression as well, so if you have any thoughts on this as well they would be appreciated.
Thank you, Julian.
I haven't been hungry as much either. But the one down side I am noticing is that I am tired a lot... I am debating if I should quit taking it though, because it doesn't seem to be helping as much now that its been a while. I read the information packet. It says something about using for fibro for three to six months... so I'm not sure if I will continue to take it or not.

I have been taking it since January. At first it really seemed to help. But lately I have been having a lot of pain in my hips, and been so tired that I don't want to do anything at all. But at the same time, even when I'm exhausted I lay down to go to sleep and just lie there. I can't fall asleep unless I take something like tylenol pm. So I'm not getting any rest, and I'm hurting. Its like the cycle never ends. And it wasn't nearly this bad until I started taking the cymbalta.

How long have you been taking it?

I take Cymbalta and have been for some 2 years. I dont notice any diffrence in pain only thing I think its helping me with is crying spells. I dont think I have any side effects because of so many side effects you get with fibromyalgia would be hard to tell which one it is. Hope this helps.
I couldn't take it, it made me sick and not just nauseated either, sick.
I go to the doctor tomorrow and am going to tell her I don't want to take it anymore. I don't think it is really helping anyways. Plus I wanted to have another baby and cant do that if I am still on Cymbalta.

The side effects were too much for me and I didn't see improvement. Same was true for Savella and Lyrica made my pain much worse -- after 6 days I threw it in the trash!
