Hi! I'm April- you can call me AJ. I have had sympyoms of fibromyalgia for years. I remember hurting when someone touched my legs, etc., since I was in school. I have a high pain threshold (thank God!), so I am able to tune out the pain quite often, until it crosses the threshold.
My symptoms got really noticible when I got pregnant with my oldest. It was then that I began to realize that something was not right. It wasn't until recently that I got health insurance and began to try to get a diagnosis. After a year and a half, I finally found a doctor who truly cares and has given me answers.
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia on Monday- FINALLY!! I am really relieved to have an answer. I have been given Gabapentin, which I am now up to 600mg a day (300mg 2x daily). I will work my way up to 1200mg daily soon. I have noticed that I am better able to rest at night and I still hurt, but it is tolerable.
I am looking forward to meeting you all!

Nice to meet you AJ...Looking forward to getting to know you better...Let me know if there is anything I can do for you...I have had Fibro for over 15yrs now...And it is weather changes and the barometic pressures that start some of my bad pain but there are times when I wonder what brought this on...We are here for you in what ever you...♥♥(((HUGS))))fern
