I recently moved from Pennsylvania and have a four year old son and a baby on the way. I would love to meet some moms in the area for play dates and moms night out! Anyone close by? Or know of any local moms clubs?

Welcome to Long Island! The Northport-East Nothport Public Library has a mom's group that will begin again in the fall.

I work in Northpor and it's a beautiful community. If you have any questions of things to do in the area, let me know, I love it there! I actually take my boys to Crab Meadow beach almost everyday. It's very kid-friendly and when the tide is low there's an awesome sand-bar. Also, not sure of the date, but I know it's soon, Northport will be having their annual fireman's fair on Larkfield road. They'll have rides and such for the kiddies.
this is terrible but where is northport? im originally from the north shore of LI. i now live in patchogue, so often i think somewhere is really far away forgetting that i dont live where i think i do. i have a feeling i explained that weird. well hopefully it makes sense. well congrats on the new baby, so exciting. my daughter was born back in april
Thanks so much for the suggestion! I did check out the moms group at the library but it looks like it is geared toward mothers of newborns. I may try to start a moms group on Meetup. If you hear of any others please let me know!

The group at the Northport-East Northport Public Library now includes older siblings, as well as infants. Some of the members have babies, while others have an older sibling and an infant. It might be worth inquiring about again. :)
Meetup is a great option, too!
There's also an organization called MOPS (Moms of Preschoolers) and they have a Huntington chapter.
