Imagine plowing through the holiday buffet line this year and sampling just a modest amount of food rather than the whole kit-n-kaboodle? I propose becoming a member of the clean plate club rather than gorging and purging the leftovers in the closest garbage can. Yes, it CAN be done...here are a few strategies to fire you up:

How many people in the green community can see the benefit to this? Outside of holiday fiestas, do you make a habit of saving all of your leftover food rather than throwing it away? Is it a green, financial or practical choice for you?
This really is a great article. Thanks so much for sharing it.

We save leftovers at my house. I am getting four meals out of what I bought for Thanksgiving. I got a ham, turkey, and sides. We will eat it for Thanksgiving and the next day then I am going to make soup with the ham and pot pie with the turkey. Food cost too much and there are too many people that don't have it for us to waste!
Not to offend anyone, but I was all ready to start rolling my eyes & muttering "weirdo hippies" under my breath when I opened the link.
It was surprisingly funny, light, and made a lot of sense. I mean, yes, saving all your dryer lint to hand knit ear muffs for your dog will cut down on garbage; but this is not one of those overly ridiculous notions.
I'm joining the "clean plate" club this season.
TFS! I especially liked this part:
3) Smile from ear to ear while explaining that you LOOOOVE leftovers.
4) Ask them where THEIR reusable container is.
