For halloween, i painted the inside of baby food jars orange and painted a pumpkin face on the outside of the jar. I painted the lid green. U can also do white to make ghosts.

I've seen people use babyfood jars for candles.  You can store buttons in them, any little thing really.  I just keep refilling mine with homemade babyfood! lol

Holiday Craft: DIY Snow Globe

Transform used glass jars into snowy decorations with our easy how-tos

By Woman's Day Staff Posted December 08, 2008 from Woman's Day

Holiday Craft: DIY Snow Globe

Create your own glass menagerie with these easy-to-make snow globes.

1. Rinse a glass jar with warm, soapy water. Let dry.

2. On the inside of the lid, make a tiny snow-covered "mountain" with Sculpey, a modeling clay available at crafts stores. Then, affix a plastic animal (or any small toy) to the lid with a glue gun or epoxy.

3. Fill jar with water and 1 tsp glycerin-it makes the "snow" fall more slowly. Add silver glitter. Fasten the lid and voilà-instant blizzard.

Turn glass items into hanging votive holders or fill with spices, old buttons, colored beads and place around for decorative accents especially in groupings of 3 with same or varied size jars. I use plastic containers to mix craft paints in, to store small toys, or bits and pieces of things.

I have taken pictures of there fav. cartoons (dora, bob the builder, barbie, ect.) and decoupage them on to a jar.  On the lid  I made a slit for money and we had a bank.  I have also decoupaged Bakugan pictures on a large plastic peanut butter jar for my son to store his Bakugan cards and balls in.  He liked this better then the containers you buy for the Bakugan for they are mettal and the balls have to be put in just right so they dont stick to the container and open.
