I'm wanting to make cookbooks for christmas gifts (yes I have to start now to be done by then lol)... But what I need is some reciepes that you love.

Even if you don't know the whole reciepe , just the name and I can search it. It can be of anything - breakfast, salads, snacks, cakes, candy, dinners, dinner for two, etc.

Thanks in advance!

I saw this on the cooking channel. I tried it and my family loved it!

Pollo alla Cacciatora (Chicken Cacciatora)

Recipe courtesy Nigella Lawson

This is an old favorite - chicken cooked 'the hunter's way' which grants a certain amount of culinary licenses. This, my, version is traditional enough, only speeded up and simplified. The only unexpected deviation lies in the addition of a can of cannellini beans. This, in effect, turns it into a quick, one pot, all-inc supper. Having said that, I also adore it - as do my children - with plain steamed rice, as well. But whatever, when I cook this, I know I can count on getting tea on the table from scratch in comfortably under half an hour.

Prep Time:5 min Cook Time:25 min Level: Easy Serves:4 servings

1 tablespoon garlic oil

½ cup bacon

6 scallions, finely sliced

1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves

1 pound chicken thigh fillets, each cut into 4 pieces

½ teaspoon celery salt

½ cup of chicken broth

1 (14-ounce) can chopped tomatoes

2 bay leaves

½ teaspoon sugar

1 (14-ounce) can cannellini beans, optional

1. Put the garlic oil into a pan with the pancetta, sliced scallions and chopped rosemary and fry for a couple of minutes.

2. Add the bite-sized chicken pieces, stirring well, and sprinkle in the celery salt.

3. Pour in the wine and let it come to a bubble before adding the tomatoes, bay leaves and sugar. Put the lid on and let the pan simmer for 20 minutes.

4. Drain and add a tin of cannellini beans and when they have warmed through too, you are ready to eat.

Nigella used ½ cup white wine instead of chicken broth.

I did not have any bay leafs on hand and I did not have celery salt so I use regular salt and add diced celery.

Got this recipe off of Food Network Big Daddy. This recipe uses chicken chunks not ground chicken. My family will not eat ground chicken or turkey. They love this recipe also!

Chunky Chicken Chili Recipe courtesy Aaron McCargo Jr.

Prep Time: 20 min Cook Time: 25 min Level: Easy Serves: 2 quarts

1 stick butter, divided

2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed into 1/2-inch pieces

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 large onion, chopped

1/4 cup red pepper, diced

1/4 cup green pepper, diced

2 cups chicken stock

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 tablespoon cracked black pepper

1 tablespoon kosher salt

2 (14.5-ounce) cans cannellini beans, drained (This is white kidney beans)

2 (4-ounce) cans mild green chiles

1/2 cup sour cream

1 1/2 cups grated Cheddar, for garnish

3 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves, for garnish

In a large Dutch oven, melt 4 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat. Brown the chicken pieces until nicely colored and cooked through. Remove chicken to a large bowl and set aside.

Using the same Dutch oven, stir in the flour. This will create a roux. Stir in the onions and peppers. Add the chicken stock to deglaze the pan and stir in the heavy cream. Lower heat and cook until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes. Once the sauce has thickened, add the chili powder, coriander, cumin, cayenne, black pepper and the salt. Stir and cook for a few minutes. Add the cannellini beans, chiles and the chicken and simmer for another 6 to 8 minutes. At the very end, mix in the sour cream. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with Cheddar and parsley.

Patricia’s Notes:

1. Use Pinto Beans

2. Add Petite Diced Tomatoes

3. Add about ½ amount of cumin and cayenne pepper. Do to taste.

4. Delete 2 (4-ounce) cans mild green chiles and green pepper. In Place of these Items use a Pavlano Pepper

5. Season Chicken bits before cooking with your choice of seasonings - salt, pepper, cumin, garlic etc.

6. Peel the fresh pepper with a veggie peeler, that way the peppers will not be tough.

7. Add chopped garlic to taste. We love garlic so I around 1-2 tbsp. I use the garlic that is in the jar that is pre-chopped.

8. I cooked each item in a skillet and then added it to the Dutch oven. I followed the instructions and I did not like results.

9. I cook the onions and garlic together first, then add the peppers

10. Use chicken thighs in place of Chicken breast.

Sandra Lee Sugar Cookies

2 packaged sugar cookie mixes

4 oz. cream cheese, softened

2 eggs

4 tsp. vanilla extract or other flavoring

2 cup of all purpose flour

(1 ½ sticks butter)

(1 can eagle brand)

Preheat oven to 350

Combine the cookies mix with the cream cheese until crumbly. Mix in the eggs and flavoring until well combine. Add enough floured to make a firm dough that can be rolled out. Roll dough out on lightly floured board to ¼ inches thickness. Cut out desired shape. (Sprinkle colored sugar at this time if not icing.) (The dough will roll out better if it is chilled.)

(Chill over night for using cookie cutters.)

Place on a lightly sprayed cookie sheet Pam and bake about 8 minutes. (375- 9 mins - my oven)

Cool completely the decorate with royal icing. Or sprinkle with sprinkles or sugar before baking.

We love chili but we could not find one that agreed with us so I tried this one and now this is the only Chili we eat. It is fast and Easy. We use this Chili to make Frito Pie, Nachos, or eat with hot dogs.

Mr. Food’s Ready-To-Go Chili Serves: 5

Make a great

in only one hour with Ready-To-Go Chili. See for yourself - the name doesn't lie!ground beef  and onion over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes.cook for 1 hour, or until the chili has thickened, stirring occasionally.

1 pound lean ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cans (15-ounces each) pinto beans, undrained

1 can (28-ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 can (15-ounces) tomato sauce

1 can (4-ounces) chopped green chilies, undrained

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

In a large soup pot, brown the meat and onions.

Add the remaining ingredients, reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer till chile is thick or you can eat as a stew.

Note: Add a little hot pepper sauce or cayenne pepper if you like a spicier chili. Serve in bowls topped with all the classic chili fixin's like shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped onion, or sliced jalapeño peppers.
