I'm thinking of trying my hand at making quilts for my step-daughters for Christmas. Probably Christmas next year or the year after if watching my MIL gives me any indication of how quickly quilts can be done. lol

Anyway, I found a pattern that I like, but it is too small for their beds.  It is 43" x 43" and I need a twin quilt, which I think is 61" x 91".  The block size is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".  I need to know how to figure out how much extra material to get.

Here is a picture I found on the 'net of the finished product, so you can get an idea of it.

Thanks for the help!

On my quilt calculator it says you'll need a total of  5 3/4 yards of material for the top if you do 12 blocks across and 18 blocks down .  I rounded the number of blocks  it to whole numbers.  Then you'll also need approxiamately 5 3/4 - 6 yards for the backing also.  Depending on how you are going to bind it.  Hope this helps you out! 80]`
