Handmade Letters....Pic's included!!

This is one of my favorite things to make. They can be made for birthdays, xmas gifts, baby showers, kids rooms...almost anything!

This is one I made for my sons room. I knew I was eventually going to do a race car theme in his room, and my typical decor is vintage. I bought the letter at Joann's Craft store. Its 12" tall, cost aound 5-6$. I used craft paper, a zipper, buttons, yarn, somethings laying around the house, his sonogram picture...and came up with this. I used decoupage glue to put the whole thing together. When it was all finished, I brushed it over once with the decoupage glue to seal it really good and give it a 'different' messy kind of look. The edges of everything was brused in distressed ink (vintage photo color).

What a neat idea! Is the letter one of the wooden letters or plastic? I may have to try this for xmas gifts for some friends!

i'm not sure what its called, but it looks like a brown box letter....lol...does that make any sense? sorry...
